Asymptomatic hyperCKemia indicates a finding of persistent and abnormally high serum levels of creatine kinase (CK) in an asymptomatic person, whether or not the etiology has been found. An increased serum CK level is taken to mean that the integrity of the skeletal muscle membrane has been affected; an increased serum CK level is also a hallmark of muscle disease, either hereditary or acquired. Statin use is probably the most common cause of asymptomatic hyperCKemia.

Epilepsy & Seizures
Generalized tonic-clonic seizures initially occur with tonic and/or clonic motor activity, beginning as partial seizures (simple or complex) that secondarily generalize. Impaired consciousness is always present from the time the seizure generalizes. It is the most severe and life-threatening form of status epilepticus.

Stroke & Vascular Disorders
The clinical manifestations of basilar artery ischemia vary according to the site and nature of vascular compromise. Four broad clinical profiles may be distinguished: proximal and middle basilar artery occlusions, top of the basilar artery syndrome, basilar artery branch occlusions, and dolichoectasia of the basilar artery. Complications of basilar artery stroke include aspiration, dysphagia requiring G-tube or J-tube placement, urinary tract infection, pressure ulcers, and venous thromboembolism.
