Hemorrhagic transformation seen after 5 days

(A)This CT image shows contrast attenuation in the lentiform nucleus and insular zone in the right middle cerebral artery territory of a 79-year-old patient 4.5 hours after the onset of focal symptoms. There is also hemispheric sulcus attenuation. (B) A follow-up CT scan of the same patient 5 days later shows hemorrhagic transformation as a hypodense area in the deep and superficial areas of the right middle cerebral artery territory.
