Cysticercosis encephalitis (MRI)

FLAIR MRI brain images showed numerous small cystic lesions of brain parenchyma. Many lesions also have eccentric scolex. There is massive perilesional brain edema. This 20-year-old female presented with headache and vomiting following an episode of seizure. The patient was treated with corticosteroids and antiepileptics. In cysticercosis encephalitis, albendazole is contraindicated. (Contributed by Dr. Ravindra Kumar Garg.)
