Anita Datta MD

Dr. Datta is the Program Director of the Epilepsy Fellowship training program and medical student director for Neurology. She obtained her MD from the University of Saskatchewan and completed her Pediatric Neurology residency at the University of Alberta. She completed an Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital - Harvard University.


She is currently the Chairperson of the Canadian Board of Registered EEG technologists and the Secretary/Treasurer of the Canadian Association of Child Neurology. She is also the Education Director for the Canadian League Against Epilepsy. She is board-certified in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and in Child Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Her primary clinical interest is epilepsy and its surgical management. She is the primary investigator in various clinical trials in epilepsy. Her research interests include novel therapies for the management of epilepsy, EEG predictors of clinical outcome, and epilepsy co-morbidities. She has authorized numerous journal articles and textbook chapters.
