Dr. Poinson is originally from California. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education at the University of Miami, in Florida. She earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Florida at Orlando Health in Orlando, FL, and pediatric neurology at LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans, LA. She was able to merge her interests of neurology and sports by completing a sports neurology fellowship at LifeBridge Health in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Poinson is a board-certified neurologist with special qualifications in child neurology. She collaborates with a wide variety of subspecialists to provide comprehensive post-concussion care.
