Elizabeth Carroll MD

Dr. Carroll specializes in neurocritical care and epilepsy. After completing her medical school training at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, she went on to complete her residency training in neurology at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Medical Center, followed by additional subspeciality training with a fellowship in Epilepsy. She then completed her neurocritical care fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center and Weil Cornell Medical Center prior to joining as faculty at the University of Chicago.

Currently, Dr. Carroll’s research involves the use of electrophysiology in the critical care setting, specifically within the realm of disorders of consciousness. She focuses on the use of EEG to measure brain function and predict neurological recovery in acute brain injury patients.
