Noteworthy Promotions, Awards, or Distinctions

In July 2023, Dr Josep Dalmau received the Camillo Golgi Award from the European Academy of Neurology in recognition of his research into autoimmune encephalitis. 

In May 2023, Dr Dalmau received the Scientific Breakthrough 2023 Award from the American Brain Foundation in recognition of his commitment to enriching our understanding of autoimmune neurological diseases such as encephalitis, paraneoplastic syndromes, and others over the course of his career.

In Nov 2025, Dr. Dalmau was awarded the National Prize in Medical Investigation from the Spanish Ministry of Health in recognition of his contributions toward advancing medical knowledge
