Dr. Grouse received her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She went on to complete her neurology residency at Rush University Medical Center and her neurophysiology/EMG fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. She has received board certifications in neurology and clinical Informatics.

Dr. Grouse is an interviewer for the Continuum Audio podcast and was a former member of the editorial board for Continuum: Lifelong Learning in Neurology, the official CME publication of the American Academy of Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology Quality Informatics subcommittee and leads the interoperability pillar of this committee. She is a twice-elected member of the Epic Neurology Steering Board, helping to guide their content and strategy for neurology.
