Dr. Schaefer's professional interests include the assessment and remediation of neurobehavioral disorders, such as brain injury and dementia; educational outreach; and the determination of decision-making capacity. She is co-editor of the book, A Casebook of Mental Capacity in U.S. Legislation: Assessment and Legal Commentary, co-author of Working with the Brain in Psychology: Considering Careers in Neuropsychology, and co-editor of the forthcoming Reversible Causes of Cognitive Impairment and Dementia: From Neuroscience to Clinical Practice, all published by Routledge.
Dr. Schaefer is a Fellow of both the American Psychological Association (Clinical Neuropsychology and Adult Development and Aging divisions) and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
