Associate Professor of Neurology
Georgetown University School of Medicine
Director of Neuromuscular Medicine
MedStar Washington Hospital Center
Dr. Streicher completed his neurology residency at the University of Iowa, a Sports Neurology fellowship at the University of Michigan, and a Neuromuscular medicine fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery / Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Streicher's clinical practice centers on the intersection of neurology and rheumatology, with particular expertise in autoimmune and inflammatory neuromuscular diseases, including inflammatory myopathies, myasthenia gravis, and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. He champions a multidisciplinary approach to these conditions, coordinating closely with rheumatologists, physiatrists, and physical and occupational therapists to optimize outcomes — especially in the rehabilitation of patients with inflammatory myopathy. He lectures regularly on the neurologic examination for rheumatology trainees at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Streicher serves as Principal Investigator on more than 30 clinical and retrospective studies, including studies in inflammatory myopathy and neuroimmunologic diseases, and leads the neurology informatics programs across MedStar Health.
