Pilocytic astrocytoma compressing the brainstem (MRI)

Enhanced MRI shown at the same level as the CT. This T1-weighted image (TR 14.3/TE 3.1) demonstrates the well-delineated cyst with its enhancing, centralized solid nodule of tumor tissue. Compression of the brainstem is more clearly visualized. The left middle cerebral artery does not appear to be displaced. (Contributed by Dr. Herbert Newton.)
