Carotid artery stenting: decreasing trend in major adverse cardiovascular events

The 30-day major adverse cardiovascular event rates reported by the various registries and studies of carotid artery stenting, organized chronologically by the year of publication, illustrate the continued decremental trend observed over the course of time. This is likely the result of increasingly sophisticated embolic protection devices, as well as growing operator experience. (Contributed by Dr. Camilo Gomez.)
