Tyrosine hydroxylase gene delivery effect on dopamine levels

Introduction of tyrosine hydroxylase gene directly into the striatum increases tyrosine hydroxylase production and, in the presence of cofactor tetrahydrobiopterin, results in endogenous dopamine synthesis and release. (Contributed by Dr. K K Jain.)
