Best disease (vitelliform phase)

This picture represents the egg-yolk (vitelliform) phase of this dominantly inherited macular dystrophy. During this phase, the acuity usually remains normal in spite of the significant accumulation of lipofuscin under the macula. (Contributed by Dr. James Walters.)
