Dr. Batu graduated from medical school in 2007 and completed her pediatrics residency in 2013 and pediatric rheumatology fellowship in 2017 at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. During her pediatrics residency, she also completed the courses of the tumor immunology PhD program at the same university. And, during her pediatric rheumatology fellowship, she achieved the MSc degree in the pediatric autoinflammatory diseases program at Hacettepe University.

She has been leading the “education and training” pillar of the Vasculitis Working Party of Pediatric Rheumatology European Association (PReS) since 2023.

Ezgi D Batu has authored or coauthored 173 papers with 3067 citations as of April 2025 and her h index is 28 (Scopus).

Ezgi D Batu received the Young Scientist Award from the Turkish Science Academy (BAGEP), in April 2020. In December 2023, she received the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) Young Scientist Award in the field of health sciences.
