(A) Patient who presented with acute left hemiplegia, extinction, and evidence of occlusion (thrombolysis in cerebral infarction = 0) of the terminal internal carotid artery (Arrow). (B) Deployment of the "stentriever" across the point of occlusion (black arrow) immediately creates a flow passage, as evidenced by the column of contrast past the occlusion. The distal markers of the device can be visualized (white arrow). (C) Retrieval of the occluding thrombus, results in complete recanalization (thrombolysis in cerebral infarction = 3) of the internal carotid artery, with visualization of both the middle cerebral artery and the anterior cerebral artery.
