Epilepsy & Seizures
Hemiclonic seizures (non-Jacksonian) are a type of unilateral convulsive seizure mainly affecting infants and young children. Their most typical presentation is in hemiconvulsion-hemiplegia-epilepsy where hemiclonic status epilepticus is followed by permanent hemiplegia. They manifest with entirely 1-sided, unilateral, clonic convulsions from onset without the focal elements and without the marching of Jacksonian seizures.
