Pituitary adenoma (MRI)

Sagittal precontrast (A) and postcontrast (B) T1 weighted images show a round well-circumscribed lesion within the pituitary gland. The mass is slightly hyperintense relative to normal anterior hypophysis but enhances to a lesser degree than the normal gland. The hyperintense posterior hypophysis is located posterior to the mass. The mass is situated centrally within the sella as shown on the coronal precontrast (C) and postcontrast (D) T1 weighted images. (Contributed by Dr. Diana Gomez-Hassan.)
