Atonic seizure (ictal EEG)

A rather irregular multiple spike-and-wave discharge is associated with abrupt and complete loss of postural tone, causing the patient to fall down. After a few seconds, the child returns to the erect position. (Contributed by Dr. Roberto Michelucci.)
