Calf edema in trichinosis

Diffuse and intense muscle involvement in trichinosis results in marked swelling of the calves. Besides muscle pain, change in muscle consistency to “stony hard” is a characteristic finding. (Contributed by Dr. Anan Srikiatkhachorn.)
