Hippocampal seizure discharge propagating to ipsilateral amygdala and with "minor symptoms"

Combined scalp- and stereoelectroencephalographic depth recording of a right hippocampal seizure discharge (7/1-3) propagating to ipsilateral amygdala (6/1-2). Note the repetitive sharp waves of about 1/s in the right hippocampus (2/1-2). With the beginning of the discharge, the sleeping patient grasped his nose, probably because this discharge was also associated with his habitual olfactory aura.
