Obstructive sleep apnea (polysomnogram) (2)

Repeated obstructive apneas in a 6-year-old boy with enlarged tonsils. During the first 20 seconds, there is minimal airflow despite progressive increases in attempts to breathe apparent in the respiratory effort channels. Several quick breaths then occur during an arousal followed by a return to sleep, immediate airway closure, and another 20-second obstructive apnea. (Contributed by Dr. Michael Aldrich.)
