Bone spicules in retinitis pigmentosa

With degeneration of the retinal pigment epithelium, pigment is liberated. This pigment tends to align itself with the small retinal venules and takes on the appearance of “bone spicules.” (Contributed by Dr. Rosa Ana Tang.)
