Vimentin in myotubular myopathy (photomicrograph)

In myotubular myopathy, vimentin is overexpressed or upregulated in all myofibers. In a term neonate, vimentin should be limited in muscle to fibroblasts and to endothelial cells and smooth muscular walls of blood vessels. (x250) (Used with permission. Sarnat HB.
