Hypertensive encephalopathy: vasogenic edema (MRI)

(A) Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery signal MRI demonstrating vasogenic edema in the posterior parietal and occipital lobes, predominantly effecting the white matter, a classic distribution. (B) Repeat MRI 2 months later demonstrated complete resolution of T2-hyperintensities. (Contributed by Dr. Catherine Albin.)
