Congenital LCMV infection in neonate (CT)

Head CT scan obtained from a patient with congenital LCMV infection at 2 days of age. The head CT scan is markedly abnormal and reveals bilateral periventricular mineralizations (arrows) and encephalomalacia with severe cortical thinning (arrow heads). The skull is also misshapen with protuberance of the right parieto-occipital region. (Contributed by Dr. Daniel J Bonthius.)
