Basal ganglia hemorrhage (CT)

Axial CT of the brain shows a large hyperdense region centered at the level of the right basal ganglia consistent with an acute intraparenchymal hemorrhage. Hemorrhage is also seen extending into the lateral ventricles. Considerable surrounding edema and mass effect are also seen. (Contributed by Dr. Diana Gomez-Hassan.)
