One of Koch's first photographs of anthrax bacilli and spores

(x700) Anthrax bacilli that had grown into long filaments and formed spores after having been cultured in aqueous humor. The preparation was dried on a coverslip" to bring the threads into one plane for photographing," then rehydrated in potassium acetate (potash) and photographed without staining. (Source: Koch R.
