Nerve enlargement in neurofibromas (ultrasound)

Ultrasonographic findings of diffuse plexiform neurofibromas with abnormal fascicular patterns and marked enlargement and hypoechogenicity of nearly all nerves in a patient with NF1 without cutaneous manifestations. Ultrasound images of the left median and ulnar nerves in the forearm, left sural nerve in the lower leg, and left sciatic nerve at the thigh are shown. (Contributed by Dr. Elina Zakin.)
