A structured and patient-centered interview is a cornerstone to start the approach to headache patients. These include not only headache-related information but also non-headache-related data. After performing a focused physical or neurologic examination, headaches with red flags should be managed differently. The consideration of the diagnosis of a headache disorder, as well as the comorbidities, may help decide management strategies. (Contributed by Yi Chia Liaw MD.)
