Habitual hypermotor seizure preceding a focal onset generalized absence

Habitual hypermotor seizure preceding a focal onset generalized absence with 3 Hz spike-wave discharge. Note that the 3- to 4-Hz discharge starts long after the hypermotor symptoms, and it is mainly left-sided. Also note the rhythmic myoclonic jerks mainly of the right arm during the spike-wave discharge. Cognition could not be assessed. (Contributed by Dr. C P Panayiotopoulos.)
