Hepatic encephaloapthy edema

A CT scan of the head (left) of a 7-year-old male with acute hepatic failure is normal. The patient experiences worsened encephalopathy and seizures, and a repeat CT scan approximately 24 hours later (right) demonstrates loss of gray-white differentiation and profound cerebral edema.
