Dystrophin and associated complex (schematic design)

Laminin-alpha2 (merosin) is an extracellular component and linked to dystroglycan (from Kanagawa M, Toda T. The genetic and molecular basis of muscular dystrophy: roles of cell-matrix linkage in the pathogenesis. J Hum Genet 2006;51(11):915-26.). Many forms of muscular dystrophies are associated with abnormalities of this complex. (Adopted from Novocastra. Contributed by Dr. Gyula Acsadi.)
