(December 11, 2017) At the Cosmonaut Hotel crew quarters in Baikonur, Kazakhstan, Expedition 54-55 prime crewmember Scott Tingle (b 1965) of NASA tests his vestibular skills on a rotating chair as part of his prelaunch training. Tingle, astronaut and physician Norishige Kanai (b 1976) of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and cosmonaut Anton Nikolaevich Shkaplerov (b 1976) of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) launched December 17, 2017, on a Soyuz MS-07 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome for a 5-month mission on the International Space Station.
