Tricholoma equestre mushroom (T. flavovirens, T. auratum, "man on horseback," or "yellow knight")

Tricholoma equestre (also known as T. flavovirens and T. auratum and colloquially as "man on horseback" or "yellow knight") mushroom occurs worldwide and had been widely considered to be a tasty and quite edible species. It should now be considered conditionally edible because it contains a fungal toxin associated with rhabdomyolysis. (Photograph by Jerzy Opioła on October 9, 2013.
