Retinitis pigmentosa (attenuated ERG)

The electroretinogram (ERG) is exquisitely sensitive to the earliest retinal changes in most of the retinitis pigmentosas. It is frequently the case that the ERG will be severely attenuated or totally absent before other signs or symptoms appear. (Contributed by Dr. Rosa Ana Tang.)
