Chemical biology in ALS-FTD

The interaction between dipeptide repeat polypeptides (DPRs), tethering of mitochondria to the endoplasmic reticulum by the VAPB-PTPIP51 tethering proteins, calcium and glycogen synthase beta gene (GSK-3b), resulting in impaired synaptic function and neurodegeneration in C9orf72 mutations ALS-FTD.
