Headache & Pain
Fibromyalgia is a chronic diffuse or multifocal pain syndrome characterized by muscle pain and generalized burning, throbbing, or tingling in the body, typically of gradual onset, and usually not progressive. Patients report widespread, functionally limiting pain, and may exhibit signs of global sensory hyperresponsiveness. Etiology may involve dysregulation of pain processing in the central nervous system resulting in central hypersensitivity.
