Epilepsy & Seizures
Reflex epileptic seizures are seizures that are elicited by specific extrinsic (light, tactile, acoustic) or intrinsic (thinking, reading, emotional) stimuli. Seizures may be generalized (absences, myoclonic jerks, or generalized tonic-clonic seizures) or focal (visual, sensorimotor, or limbic). EEG is fundamental in the identification of the offending stimuli, with significant clinical and pathophysiological implications.
