Vein of Galen malformation (MRI)

Sagittal T1 (A), axial T2 (B), axial FLAIR (C), axial T1 (D), and axial T1 with contrast (E) images of a 3 year old who presented with an enlarging head size, a large aneurysmal enlargement, and prominent flow void of the vein of Galen and straight sinus. A tortuous arterial vessel is noted along the left side of the varix, which was shown to drain into the malformation on angiography (not shown). (Contributed by Dr. Diana Gomez-Hassan.)
