Black-crusted erosion and surrounding hypopigmented patch on elbow due to yaws infection in a 5-year-old girl from the Philippines

The skin lesions were of an undetermined duration and were pruritic. Skin findings included (1) numerous small, whitish, scaly macules on the shoulders and arms; (2) a single, black-crusted erosion on the right elbow area; and (3) multiple, atrophic oval scars clustered on the knees.
