Psychomotor seizure (ictal scalp EEG)

Scalp EEG of a psychomotor seizure with typical crescendo-like recruiting rhythms over the right temporal area. At the arrow, the patient communicated his typical aura consisting of "doubling of thoughts.” Aura- and seizure-free following a right selective amygdalohippocampectomy. Histology revealed a severe hippocampal sclerosis (Wyler IV). Follow-up is 20 years. (Contributed by Dr. Heinz Gregor Wieser.)
