Astrocytoma: abundant fibrillary processes

The nuclei of neoplastic astrocytes are generally more angulated and hyperchromatic than those of either oligodendrocytes or reactive astrocytes. The presence of delicate omnidirectional processes is characteristic of astrocytomas. (Contributed by Drs. Julio H Garcia and Eduardo J Eyzaguirre.)
