Sturge-Weber syndrome presents with a facial capillary malformation (port wine birthmark), abnormal blood vessels on the surface of the brain, and glaucoma, with many patients also developing seizures, focal neurologic impairments, visual problems, and cognitive deficits. It is a neurocutaneous disorder caused by a somatic mutation in the GNAQ gene.

Oromandibular dystonia can manifest with jaw closure, clenching of the jaws and grinding of teeth, jaw opening, or deviation, caused by involuntary muscle contractions. It is a form of focal dystonia, and may lead to temporal-mandibular joint syndrome.

It is an opportunistic demyelinating infection of the central nervous system that primarily affects immunosuppressed patients.
