Multiple amputations due to meningococcemia in infant

This 20-month-old infant underwent amputations including both feet and her left hand at the wrist, after having contracted meningococcal septicemia, or meningococcemia. The disease caused multiple arterial occlusions, which resulted in gangrene in the amputated extremities. (Contributed by Dr. Douglas Lanska.)
