Proliferative diabetic retinopathy

A fibrovascular net has grown from the retinal surface into the vitreous and has formed a scaffold. If left untreated, the vitreous traction will pull the neural retina off from the retinal pigmented epithelium, a tractional retinal detachment. (Contributed by Dr. Rosa Tang.)
