Distal tibial and plantar nerves

The tibial nerve and its terminal branches, the medial and lateral plantar and medial calcaneal, can be compressed within the tarsal tunnel, the roof of which is formed by the flexor retinaculum at the ankle. (Contributed by Dr. Asa Wilbourn.)
