Large arterial occlusion in the carotid system

(A) The initial CT of a patient with a left middle cerebral artery syndrome shows a dense middle cerebral artery sign (arrow). The source (B) and 3D rendering (C) of the CTA confirm the LMCA occlusion (arrows). Angiography before (D) and after (E) thrombectomy documents procedural success. Repeat CT (F) a few days later shows minimal residual evidence of infarction. (Contributed by Dr. Camilo Gomez.)
