Solitary lung cancer metastasis to the sphenoid bone with secondary extension into the local dura (CT)

Axial CE orbital CT section displayed in brain window. A smooth pathologically enhancing extraaxial mass coats the abnormal sphenoid bone. It is fairly common to find such secondary extension into dura from bone metastases. Although this was a solitary metastasis, surgery could not be performed due to its location. The patient has responded well to radiotherapy. (Contributed by Dr. Zubair Shaikh.)
