I-123 SPECT indicative of Parkinson disease or nigrostriatal degeneration

Ioflupane I-123 SPECT figure shows abnormal uptake in image on the left with evidence of loss of striatal dopamine transporter (DaT) in the bilateral putamen and relative sparing in the caudate nucleus consistent with Parkinson disease or related nigrostriatal degeneration. A normal striatal uptake pattern is seen in the image on the right. (Contributed by Dr. Nicolaas Bohnen.)
